Home Instead is looking for a caring and compassionate Weekday On-Call CAREGiver to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead provides a variety of direct care, non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 10:00pm; days and evenings possible within Windham and Tolland Counties.

Compensation: $50.00 stipend per day AND hourly compensation paid for all service hours completed with clients. Hourly Rate of Pay for any shifts completed - $15.50/hr.

As an On-Call Weekday CAREGiver, it is highly likely that you will be called to cover short-notice shifts and/or to conduct CAREGiver introductions (to a maximum of 40 hour per week). If you decline the offer of a shift, you will forfeit the $50.00 daily stipend.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence care
  • Assistance with transfers and ambulation
  • Companionship and client engagement


  • Must be willing to work with both male and female clients.
  • Must be able to work in a home with pets (i.e. dogs, cats).
  • A minimum of 2 years personal care experience required.
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.
